Qatar Fund for Development supports White Helmets

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has provided US$ 2 million grant to the White Helmets In accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, in support to the Syrian people.

As the conflict escalated in Syria, This support came to contribute to support the relief operations provided by the White Helmets aimed at assisting those affected by the Syrian crisis. This grant will allow the purchase of seven fire engines and the training of volunteers in Syria. In addition to this, it will also contribute towards the Amal (Hope) project which aims at removing rubble from bombed and destructed buildings and will assist in repairing roads to help Syrians living in affected areas return to their normal lives.

This grant will assist White Helmets in conducting their relief work activities, from searching for victims of bombardment, emergency relief, firefighting, emergency evacuation to providing social services.
