Qatar has pledged $30 million to help people in Texas rebuild after Hurricane Harvey, according to Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States on Thursday, reported by the Associated Press.

The news agency reported that it is the largest contribution by a foreign government.

The Qatari Ambassador stated that he would cooperate with the Texas Government and local organizations to help rebuild the areas affected by the hurricane.

Meshal said, “Texans are stronger than any storm and will come back bigger and better, and Qatar stands ready to help our friends at every turn.”

More than 70 people died in the storm and $ 180 million is needed to reconstruct Texas.

The US National Center has issued a warning that Hurricane Jose could loop back and head towards the Caribbean or the USA.

It is the third massive hurricane that hit the United States in recent years after hurricane Harvey and Erma.
