Sport for Development and Peace Initiative
What is Sport for Development and Peace Initiative?
Sport can play a strong role as a vehicle for development and peacebuilding. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes sport as an important enabler of sustainable development that accelerates progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative seeks to address the growing contribution of sport to the realization of development and peace in its promotion of tolerance and respect, especially with children and youths.
The SDP initiative, is a joint initiative between Qatar Charity and Qatar Fund for Development where the strategic partnership program, will pool expertise and resources to harness the cross- cutting transformative power of sport and to reaffirm the recognition of its value with regard to global peace and development.
