QFFD donates $1 million to Costa Rica to rebuild the Infrastructure destructed by Hurricane Otto

The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has supported Costa Rica with $1 million to help rebuild roads, bridges and water channels that were damaged by Hurricane Otto.
In a statement on Friday, QFFD said the aid was announced at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the presence of Ambassador of Qatar to Costa Rica H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Kurdi Taleb Al Marri and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica Manuel Gonzalez Sanz who received US $ 1 million.

For his part, Sanz thanked Qatar for the support and expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Qatar for their assistance to the Costa Rican people in overcoming their ordeal.

Hurricane Otto, which struck Costa Rica in November, killed 10 people and caused damage to property and public facilities.

It is worth mentioning that the bilateral relations between the two countries started after the visit of the Father Emir to the Republic of Costa Rica during the period 25-26 January 2010, where His Highness met with the Costa Rican President and senior officials and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations. In addition, many agreements were signed.
